Accessible Information Standard

The accessible information standard was rolled out across health and social care in July 2016.

At Hillfoot Surgery we have been:

  • Contacting patients to find out if they have any specific requirements for information from the practice to be shared with them in different formats.
  • Using text messaging to communicate with our patients regarding their appointments, and any health campaigns we are running.
  • The medical and nursing staff have access to many information leaflets in an easy-read format which some patients find helpful.
  • Encouraging all patients to access services such as appointments and prescription requests online as this offers greater flexibility, and remove the need to speak to a member of staff.

All new patients registering with the practice will be asked to complete a questionnaire which asks specific questions about their communication needs. It is helpful to all when this section is completed as we can then try to provide information in a way that suits the individual.

If you feel that you have specific communication needs, please speak to one of the receptionists to see what we can do to help you.

Please note that at the moment we cannot receive or send emails to private individual email accounts.
